Fall cleanup days set in Gravette, Hiwasse

Hiwasse fall cleanup set for Oct. 9

GRAVETTE -- The annual citywide fall cleanup is scheduled next week in both Gravette and Hiwasse.

Cleanup dates will be on the regular trash pickup days, Tuesday, Oct. 7, in Gravette, and Thursday, Oct. 9, in Hiwasse.

Items for disposal in the cleanup should be placed at curbside on those days only. No hazardous materials of any kind will be accepted.

Two dumpsters will be set up at the city maintenance yard in Gravette and one at the fire department in Hiwasse on each area's cleanup day. Items too large to be compacted in the regular trash trucks should be transported to the dumpsters and disposed of there.

A trailer for recycling electronics will be set up at the Gravette Police Department throughout the week of Oct. 6 through 10.

Gravette residents are reminded that the city maintains a free brush drop off and a free metal-recycling trailer at the city maintenance yard at all times. Those wishing to transport brush or metal should call city hall, 787-5757, before visiting the site to make sure the gates are open.

Dumpsters for larger items are available at the city maintenance yard any time, but free disposal is allowed on the cleanup days only.

Normal rates for use of these dumpsters are $30 for a truckload and $60 for a trailer load.
