Gentry’s Brandy Murphy is in the background. Gravette defeated Gentry, 3-1: 25-21, 26-28, 25-21 and 25-9. Shannon McKnight led Gravette with 6 kills, 1 block and 11 digs. DaMayla Cowan added 5 kills and 2 blocks. Amanda Pinter led the team in serving with 16 points. She also had 5 kills and 2 blocks. Gravette coach, Robin Cannon, said: “The game experience that we have gotten the last three weeks is starting to show. We began the year with talent, but lack of experience. The girls are becoming more comfortable with their roles on the court and, more importantly, more comfortable with each other. I think if we continue to improve each match, we will be able to compete with anyone in our conference. We still have areas that we need to improve, but I see the progress and I know the talent is there. We have a tough stretch coming up. We travel to Prairie Grove and Pea Ridge. Both are very good teams, but I feel like if we go out and compete like we are capable they are very winnable matches for us.”
