GENTRY -- The Pioneers picked up their first win of the season when they traveled to Berryville on Friday night, beating the Bobcats 21-6.
The Pioneers took the lead in the opening quarter with a touchdown when Dustin Stoufflett threw a 26-yard pass to Kevin Easter.
And the Pioneers built on that lead in the second quarter when Easter completed a pass to Stoufflet for a TD. They added a two-point conversion when Easter connected to Dakota Smith in the end zone.
Jon Brown, on a 26-yard run, carried the ball into the end zone in the third quarter. Alex Ellis kicked one between the uprights for a point after.
Berryville's only score came about halfway through the final quarter when Aiden Brummett ran 19 yards into the end zone. A two-point conversion attempt failed.
With the win, Gentry is 1 and 4 for the season and 1 and 2 in conference play.
Gentry will host Huntsville on Friday. Game time is 7 p.m.
