Gravette Lions thump Berryville Bobcats in away game on Friday

n Lions take early lead in game and never look back.

GRAVETTE -- The Lions dominated the Bobcats at Berryville on Friday, coming home with a 35-8 victory.

Gravette jumped ahead early with five touchdowns in the first half. Cedric Duarte, Jackson Soule and Bryce Moorman each carried one into the end zone. Derek Pruitt and Terry Kahanek pulled in passes for TDs.

Duarte's five PAT attempts were good, giving the Lions a 35-0 lead at the half.

Berryville's only score came in the final quarter when Aiden Brummett ran 21 yards to reach the goal line, and Jacob Graham carried in a two-point conversion.

Jordan Burnett led the Lions in rushing yards with 67. Soule had 61 and Duarte, 40. Kahanek led in yards gained through the air with 55.

Moorman completed 10 of 13 pass attempts for a total of 138 yards and two touchdowns. Sophomore Kilby Roberts completed one of two for a gain of 12 yards.

The Lions (4-3) face Huntsville Eagles (3-4) at home on Friday at 7 p.m.
