Siloam Springs woman killed in traffic accident

GENTRY -- A Siloam Springs woman was killed on Oct. 15 in a traffic accident at the intersection of Arkansas Highways 12 and 43 near Gentry.

According to an Arkansas State Police preliminary crash summary, Nicole J. Schofield, 20, was northbound on Arkansas Highway 43 in a 1988 Ford Mustang at about 4:45 p.m. and, after stopping, pulled out to turn east and entered into the path of an eastbound 2011 Ford Focus driven by Rance D. Long, 43, of Big Cabin, Okla. The left front of Long's Ford Focus struck the left side of Schofield's Mustang.

Schofield was pronounced dead at the scene. Long was taken to Siloam Springs Regional Hospital for his injuries.
