E.H. Club News

The Maysville Extension Homemakers met for its October meeting with Jane Wilbur as hostess.

Melinda read "Another Chance" and Jane Wilbur read an inspirational card. Jane offered an interesting lesson on displaying collections. People collect just about everything imaginable from salt and pepper shakers to baskets to toy cars. Many times our collections remain in boxes and drawers. Why not display them where they can be enjoyed, even if only a few of the items can be displayed?

Jane showed some vintage washcloths which had crocheted edges. She also offered a hint about using wax paper to clean closet poles to make clothes hangers slide more easily.

The second annual craft day will be Nov. 1, beginning at 8 a.m. We have several vendors and hope to have a good crowd attend. The club will sell drinks and chili. The community Thanksgiving dinner will be Nov. 15. The community is invited to attend. The Christmas party will be held at the community center this year due to the growth of the club. County Council will be Nov. 7 at New Hope AG Church in Rogers. Registration begins at 9:30. The theme will be "Blessings."
