Spaghetti Dinner

A spaghetti dinner, bake sale and silent auction will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, at First Christian Church, located at 301 First Ave., S.E., Gravette. All proceeds will benefit the church youth group.

Emerson Electric Picnic

Employees of Emerson Electric are holding their third annual picnic from 12 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7, at the Lake Avalon Park pavilion in Bella Vista. Celebration

The Pioneer Church of God (Holiness) will be holding a service to celebrate the important role of grandparents. This special tribute will be held on Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. A gift will be given to each grandparent in attendance. The church is located just north of the Gentry police station, at 104 North Collins. Pickin' Time on 59

Pickin' Time on 59, featuring antiques, collectibles, garage and yard sale items and some business promotions, is set for Oct. 9, 10 and 11. The event route will be from the Siloam Springs Airport, on Arkansas Highway 59 just north of U.S. Highway 412, north through Gentry, Decatur, Gravette and Sulphur Springs. The city of Gentry waives its yard and garage sale permit requirements during the three-day event. Those who would like to set up a booth in Gentry may contact Bev Saunders at 479-736-2358 to reserve a space.

Singspiration Service

The Pioneer Church of God (Holiness) will be holding a special "Singspiration" service on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. This will be a special time of musical worship and praise. Fellow Christians are invited to bring a song, reading or poem to share. The church is located just north of the Gentry police station, at 104 North Collins. Woman's Christian

Temperance Union

There will be a meeting of the Northwest Arkansas Woman's Christian Temperance Union on Friday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. This is a meeting of the local chapter of the WCTU, which is a worldwide organization formed by women who were concerned about the destructive power of alcohol and the problems it was causing their families and society. The purpose of the meeting is to educate about the harm that alcohol causes and to work against government policy that encourages alcohol and drug use. The meeting will be held in the home of one of the members, at 10896 Northfork Drive, just off Mount Olive Drive between Decatur and Gravette. Gideons International

A speaker from Gideons International will be visiting the Pioneer Church of God (Holiness) on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. to explain the important role the Gideons play in Bible distribution. AWANA Club

AWANA, a children's ministry, will begin at Heritage Baptist Church on Sept. 3. AWANA is a children's club for kindergarten through fifth grade. Club meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday at Heritage Baptist Church, 307 4th Ave., S.E., Gravette. The club engages children in game time, singing, Bible stories, the memorization of Bible verses and has special fun nights. All children are welcome. Sulphur Springs Library

The Sulphur Springs Public Library, located at 512 Black Street, is now open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1 to 4 p.m. with volunteer help. Library membership cards for an individual may be purchased for $2 and a family card is $5. Phone 479-298-3753 for further information.

Gravette Library Gala

The second annual Gravette Public Library fund-raising gala will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Cedaridge Event Center, 10889 Highway 72 W., in Bentonville. The event will feature a catered dinner, casino games, silent auction and a DJ. Dress is business/casual. Tickets are available for $25 per person or $160 for a table of eight and may be purchased at the Gravette library, Arvest Bank - Gravette and the Bank of Gravett or from any library commission member. Men's Fellowship

First Baptist Church of Gentry has a monthly men's fellowship gathering at 8 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month. All men are welcome to come for food and fellowship. Guests are welcome. For more information, contact Madden Waits at 736-5009.

Mason Valley Baptist

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Mason Valley Baptist Church Activity Center are held at 7 p.m. the second Friday of each month. The church is located on Arkansas Highway 12 midway between Highfill and Vaughn.

Church Singing

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist in Sulphur Springs holds a singing service every fourth Saturday of the month, starting at 6:30 p.m. A potluck dinner follows. For more information, call Jheri Roberts, the pastor, at 752-7082.

Gravette Lions Club

Gravette Lions Club meets at 1 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month and at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month at the Billy V. Hall Wellness and Activity Center on Limekiln Road in Gravette. Coffee and cookies are served at the evening meeting. New members are welcome.

Gravette Kiwanis

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Gentry Lions Club

Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month in the McKee Community Room, in the Gentry Public Library, on Main Street at N. Collins Ave. New members and visitors are welcome.

The Gravette Public Library Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month at the library, located at 407 Charlotte St., S.E., just east of the Civic Center.

Gravette Museum

Commission

The Gravette Museum Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month in the museum annex building, 503 Charlotte St., S.E., just east of the Gravette Public Library.

Gravette Legion

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m., the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Decatur VFW Meetings

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome. The facility is three miles east of Decatur Arkansas Highway 102 and right on Tilly's Hill Road.
