GRAVETTE -- The Gravette Public Library recently received a grant in the amount of $1,500 from the Walmart Foundation and Facility #8098 through the Local Facility Giving Program. The Walmart Foundation's letter informing the library of the grant read in part, "We believe that your organization is doing important work in the communities you serve and we are proud that we are able to support you in your efforts."

Money from the grant was used for additional computer equipment for use by GED classes. Three laptops, 10 headphones, five mice and two keyboards were purchased.

The GED classes are being held Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. at the library. Ten to 12 students are attending each class session.

"Thank you for the work your organization does to create opportunities so people can live better," the Walmart Foundation letter concluded.
