Maysville News

By Katherine Tucker

The weather men have sure missed our weather. They said it might rain three days in a row. As of Sunday we hadn't gotten any yet. Maybe this week we will get some. We sure do need it.

Jim and Barbara Whisenant had to go to Texas last week. They had a death in the family. They returned home the first of the week. Sympathy is extended to the family.

Eight members of the Maysville E.H. Club and three visitors met at the community building on Thursday morning. We went to Grove, Okla., for lunch. We do not have a meeting in August. That is our free month of the year. We all enjoyed the day, treating ourselves to a day out.

The Benton County Fair is over for another year. The Maysville 4-H members did very well. Brittany and Jessica Crawley, Tabitha and William Crawley, all showed their cattle. It's lots of work through the year but it's worth it.

Nathan Whisenant filled in for the morning services at Maysville Bible Church in the absence of the pastor. We were glad to have him for the services.

Sylvia Tucker and her daughter, Patti King, made a trip to California. They flew out on Aug. 24 and returned Aug. 31. They went to Orange, Calif., to visit Dale and Jean Tucker Anglin and other family members. They report a really good trip.
