From Last Week

We got another good rain this last week and temperatures are nice. Hope the rain doesn't stop because this ground sure requires a lot.

Maysville E.H. Club members, last Thursday was regular club meeting day at the community building. Gwen was hostess for the lunch. Visitors are welcome.

My brother, Jim Vandiver of Broken Arrow, came over Tuesday and picked me up. We went to Bentonville to get our sister, Frances Sims, and went to the Golden Corral to eat. We enjoyed the time together and the visiting.

Last Thursday evening was the Sonshine Quartet concert at the Gravette High School Performing Arts Center. The public was invited to the free gospel concert at 7 p.m. This was the 40-year homecoming reunion for them.

The Maysville E.H. fundraiser is April 11, a spaghetti dinner at the community building. There will be homemade pies for sale and a cake walk. Cost for the spaghetti meal will be $6 for adults and $3 for 9- to 12-year-olds. Proceeds go for the upkeep of the community building. We are also selling tickets to raffle off a gas grill. We appreciate your support.

Matt and Karla Ballman and Jacob came by for a while after they got out of church Sunday. Then Tracy Warren came over after church. It's always good to have them come by.

Carroll Tucker and Pam visited Jack and Sylvia Tucker one afternoon last week.

Orpha Wardlaw is home after spending some time in Tulsa at the home of her daughter and family, Steve and Eva Rea Fincher and children Zack and Selena.

This Week's News

We are having nice weather now. Still a little cool but it's better than we have had. We got a good rain and more is in the forecast. We can always use the rain.

Patti King of Lowell visited her parents, Jack and Sylvia Tucker, last Thursday. She spent the rest of the week and returned home on Sunday.

Clifton Tucker visited me on Friday while he was in this territory. He ran some errands for me while he was here. That always helps me.

Several Maysville people attended the gospel concert of the Sonshine Quartet at the performing arts center in Gravette at the Gravette High School. It was a good concert and a large crowd.

Jack and Sylvia Tucker and Patti King of Lowell went to Cotton-Eyed Joe's at Noel to eat on Saturday. They enjoyed that.

Some of my relatives from Broken Arrow, Okla., came over for the concert at the high school. They were Jim Vandiver and Darlene, Jimmy Vandiver and wife Judy, Viola Chapman and daughter Angela. They enjoyed the concert.

Several friends and relatives attended the celebration of Mary Crawley's 80th birthday at the Maysville Community Building Sunday. Happy birthday, Mary. Hope you have many more.
