Brigance awarded Scholarship

WALNUT RIDGE -- Brandon Brigance of Gentry and Collin Whitney of Searcy have been awarded the Glendale Scholarship at Williams Baptist College. The scholarships were presented during the Department of Christian Ministries Banquet held on March 31.

The Glendale Scholarship was established in 1971 by the late William Dale Kirkland, a Baptist layman, and his sister, the late Glenn Kirkland, of Plumerville. The scholarship is awarded to two WBC freshmen Christian ministry students who show unusual promise to the ministry. The Christian ministries faculty at WBC selects the recipients each year and base their decision on the students' academic achievements and devotion to Christian ministry during their first year at Williams.

Brigance is a graduate of Gentry High School. He is the son of Scott and Michelle Brigance of Gentry.

Whitney is a graduate of Searcy High School. He is the son of Brian and Jana Whitney of Searcy.
