Car show planned in Gentry

GENTRY -- A car show is planned for Saturday on Gentry's Main Street, from 11 a.m. until dark. The event is being sponsored by multiple car clubs of Northwest Arkansas.

Activities are planned along Gentry's Main Street, from the city park to O'Reilly Auto Parts on Arkansas Highway 59.

Activities planned include burnouts and car limbo on the J.R. Bever Blvd. cul-de-sac (west side of the park); a car wash and For-fun Bass off at O'Reilly Auto Parts; food trucks on Main Street; music and entertainment (as well as playgrounds for children) in city park; and cruising down Main Street.

Proceeds from the activities will benefit the Toys for Tots charity.

Burning out on Main Street or other undesignated streets in Gentry will result in traffic citations, according to Keith Smith, Gentry chief of police.
