FFA team judged well

DECATUR -- The Decatur FFA Livestock Judging Team competed in two livestock judging contests over spring break.

The team traveled to Claremore, Okla., March 25, where Paige Barrett competed in the junior division and placed ninth in sheep, second in meat goats, and ended the day 10th overall. Paige received a plaque for her meat goat judging.

The senior team, comprised of Lacy Barrett, Joey Barnes and Samantha Goble, placed fourth in Cattle, fifth in Reasons, and ended the day third overall. Lacy Barrett was fourth in Hogs, fourth in Reasons, and fourth High Point Individual.

The same group traveled to Ft. Scott Community College March 27 to compete in "Aggie Day." The team finished ninth overall.

Lacy Barrett was the fourth high individual in the competition.

The next contest scheduled for the team was the Arkansas State FFA Livestock contest at the University of Arkansas on April 16. Results were unavailable at press time.

The team of Barrett, Barnes and Goble placed sixth at the Northwest District Contest at Arkansas Tech March 19, which made them eligible for the state contest.
