GRAVETTE -- Now that warmer weather has arrived, it's almost time for the annual spring cleanup days in the area. The spring cleanup date for the Gravette area has been set for Tuesday, May 5, and the date for the Hiwasse area is Thursday, May 7. Large items will be picked up curbside on these days, which are the days of the regular trash service pickup.
Everyone is asked to place items out for pickup no more than a day or two before the scheduled cleanup date. Lumber will be picked up only if it is no longer than 4 feet, is tied in a bundle and weighs less than 50 pounds.
Certain items will not be picked up and these include paint, tires, batteries, chemicals, appliances, electronics and yard waste. Anyone having questions about what materials will or will not be picked up may call city hall, 787-5757.
Brush and tree limbs and metal items may be disposed of at the city shop location in the west edge of town. This service is available at any time free of charge.
