Highfill police make warrant arrests during traffice stops

HIGHFILL -- Traffic stops led to three arrests on outstanding warrants.

On April 22, Sergeant Kelby Jenison and Officer Kyle Huffman stopped a tan Chevrolet Avalanche at the intersection of Highway 12 and Mason Valley Road because the vehicle was driven left of center and into the oncoming traffic lane. The driver, identified as Robert Dean Hunsaker, Jr., 23, was found to be wanted out of Delaware County, Okla., in connection with felony battery by strangulation and domestic assault, with a $20,000 bond. Also in the vehicle was Julie Ward, 32. She was wanted out of Fayetteville for a misdemeanor offense. Hunsaker was also charged with driving without a valid driver's license and driving left of center.

On April 20, Officer Logan Roddy conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 12 and Hutchens Road. The driver, identified as Krystle Curry, 30, was found to be wanted out of Benton County in connection with felony forgery and felony battery as well as two misdemeanor warrants for theft, one out of Siloam Springs and one out of the Rogers Police Department. Combined bond amounts totalled $6,175. Curry was also charged with driving on a suspended drivers license.
