Lady Lions take game from Wolves early

GRAVETTE -- The Lady Lions came out swinging and struck pay dirt quickly against the Lady Wolves at Lincoln and went on to bring home a 13-3 win on Thursday.

Lindsee LaBrecque, lead batter for Gravette, opened things up with a hard-hit ground ball to left. Jessica Crawley singled with a bunt to the pitcher, and Jaye Chalk scored Raylee Lemonds (courtesy runner for LaBrecque) with a sacrifice fly. Emily Miller then hit a line drive double to center, bringing in Crawley; Sierra Lemonds followed that with another line-drive double to center, plating Miller; and Megan McAfee hit a long fly ball to right for a triple and brought in Sierra Lemonds.

Though that was enough to win the game, the Lady Lions added another run in the third, three in the fourth, one each in the fifth and sixth and three in their final at bat.

The Lady Wolves picked up a run in the bottom of the second and two more in the fifth.

Jessica Crawley and Emily Miller were four for five with their bats. Crawley crossed home plate four times in the game. Miller led in RBIs, with four. Jaye Chalk had three and Lindsee LaBrecque two. Chalk and McAfee both hit triples in the game. Sierra Lemonds, Miller, McAfee and LaBrecque hit doubles (LeBrecque had two).

Gravette had 20 hits in the game and 13 earned runs.
