The Gravette Historical Museum is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

In addition to hosting the third annual Dutch oven cook-off on Gravette Day, a model train show, "Living on the Railroad," will be held at the museum that day.

The show will feature model railroading and railroad history and several train layouts will be on display in the museum's annex building. It will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Museum commission member Steve Mitchael says the train show is "shaping up to be really nice."

Several model railroads belonging to members of the Sugar Creek Model Railroad Club, from Bentonville and Bella Vista, will be on display, as well as the layout of early-day Gravette and its train tracks.

Jeff Davis, a member of the Northwest Arkansas Garden Railway Society, will have the Spavinaw and Honey Creek Railway in his back yard open for touring several hours that day. He lives on Third Avenue S.W., behind the Baptist Church.

Three vendors will be selling model railroading supplies, including train cars, engines, track and railroad-related toys.

The Kansas City Southern Historical Society will also have a booth with some items pertaining to KCS on display, and a representative will be available to answer questions about the railroad.

Gerald Hook, a retired KCS employee, has donated some KCS photographs to the museum, including one of the Gravette depot, which will be on display on Gravette Day.

Al Blair, museum commission member, local train enthusiast and collector, will be on hand helping to host the show.

He has been helping restore some of the buildings on the Gravette train layout.
