Shave it for the seniors event planned

Staff Reports

At 7 p.m. on Gravette Day, Aug. 8, on the main stage in Kindley Park, Gravette mayor Kurt Maddox and city recorder and treasurer Mike von Ree have agreed to shave their heads using a standard clipper guard based on the amount of money raised for the senior center.

This is a first-ever event designed as a benefit for the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity and Fitness Center. A number 5 clipper will be used if $1,000 is raised, number 4 for a donation of $2,000, number 3 for $3,000 raised, number 2 for a donation of $4,000, number 1 for $5,000 and number 0 for a donation of $6,000.

There are four ways people can donate to this fundraiser. They can visit the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center at 1870 Limekiln Road, call center director Mary Kay Kelley (479-787-5950), donate online at GravetteAR.com or donate in person on Gravette Day at the Kiwanis pancake breakfast and at Kindley Park.

Those wishing to see their city officials get a "real cool" haircut and benefit the local senior activity center should make their donations now.
