Three will compete for Miss Gravette honors

GRAVETTE -- Three young ladies will be competing for the honor of being crowned Miss Gravette 2015 at the annual pageant Saturday in Kindley Park. The contestants are DaMayla Cowan, 18; Kinsley Hurtt, 17; and Torie-Lynn Dixon, 17. The three contestants will ride in the Gravette Day parade at noon and will make two appearances on the stage, one in street wear at 5:30 p.m. and one in formal evening wear at 7:30 p.m. They will be judged on beauty, poise and personal appearance.

The new Miss Gravette will be announced and crowned at 8 p.m. She will be awarded a $250 cash prize. First runner-up will receive a $100 cash prize and the second runner-up $50 in cash.

Three contestants are also entered in the Miss Gravette Teen competition, for girls 13 to 16 years old. They are Fiona Green, 14, daughter of Sam and Christy Green; Kaylee Midyett, 14, daughter of Sam and Christy Green; and Teagan Dixon, daughter of Gene Dixon and Gina Mousser. The Miss Gravette Teen contestants will appear on stage in street wear at 5 p.m. and the winner will be crowned immediately after their appearance.

The Pretty Baby contest, for girls and boys from birth to 23 months, will be held at 4 p.m.; and the Little Mister and Miss Tiny Tot contest, for youngsters age 2 through 6, at 4:30 p.m. Pretty Baby and Tiny Tot applications will be accepted until 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, at Gravette City Hall.
