Because of the popularity of Gravette's new disc golf course, a new event is being added for this year's Gravette Day celebration. A competitive disc golf tournament will be held on the course in Old Town Park from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday. Entry fee will be $20 for the non-PDGA competitive disc golf tournament which will feature two rounds of nine holes. Entrants can pay $10 for 18 mulligans. Registration will be held from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Pro entries will be eligible for prizes of $175 and merchandise, advanced entries will compete for $100 in merchandise and recreational entries will compete for $50 in merchandise. For $1 an entry, contestants can get a chance at the "ace pot" which will be awarded to the first person entered in the tournament who makes a hole in one.

All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Western Benton County.

The afternoon's tournament will be followed by an evening "glow round" from 8 to 11 p.m. This will be an opportunity to play an evening round of recreational disc golf using LED-lit discs. There is no entry fee for the late night "glow round" and discs will be available on site. Event sponsors say the course and "pole holes" will be illuminated with lighting "that should turn the entire park into a magical place!"

Children of all ages are welcome and families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for the evening's event. Come to play disc golf, to dance or just to enjoy the visiting, musical entertainment and food. There will be music by "Got It Covered," a funk rock R&B band from Fayetteville, and the Fire Station 29 Pub and Grill will serve brisket sandwiches and offer a variety of beer and soft drinks.
