GRAVETTE -- The Gravette High School drama department presented performances of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon at the GHS performing arts center. The polished performances gave evidence of many hours of practice and preparation.

Seventeen cast members played a variety of roles in the classic drama, adapted for the stage by Neil Bartlett and directed by high school drama teacher, Ian Galloway. Dressed in period costume, and backed by a striking set constructed by the GHS stagecraft crew, they succeeded in transporting their audience to Victorian times.

Director Galloway expressed thanks to his wife and children for taking care of him as he made them "a theater-widow and theatre-orphans." He also said, "Thanks to the families of my cast and crew for allowing me the tremendous time it takes to create our little art in our little corner of the world."
