Maysville News

We sure got a good rain Sunday and we needed it. At least it isn't cold temperatures, but this time of year they are probably not far behind.

Maysville E.H. Club members, remember this Thursday, Dec. 17, is our Christmas get-together in the home of Beverly Whiteside. Bring a $10 gift wrapped for the game. Everyone will end up with a gift. Lunch will be at noon. Hope to see you there.

A potluck dinner was held at the Maysville Bible Church last Sunday after morning services. As always, there were plenty of food and good fellowship.

I have not been feeling very well. In fact, I spent a couple of days in the hospital and got more blood, so I think I'm better. I appreciate all my children and grandchildren looking after me and all the phone calls I received on my birthday on Thanksgiving day. I guess it isn't too bad to get older.

My brother, Jim Vandiver, of Broken Arrow, Okla., and friend Darlene came over Monday to take me out to eat. We picked up our sister-in-law, Janes Vandiver, of Bentonville, and sister Marie Crawford and husband Jim of Gentry met us at the Golden Corral. That is our get-together before our brother Jim leaves for warmer temperatures for the winter. We all enjoyed it.

Sammie Story and children Chloe and Miles of Houston, Texas, have been visiting their grandparents, Jack and Sylvia Tucker.

Orpha Wardlaw spent some time in Tulsa last week with her daughter and family, Steve and Eva Rea Fincher and children Zack and Selena.

Jack and Sylvia Tucker, Justin and Valerie Sappington and girls Abby and Lauren, Sammie Story and children Chloe and Miles went to the Catfish Hole in Fayetteville to eat. They reported a good time together along with the good food.
