GRAVETTE -- Guests at Billy V. Hall Senior Activity and Wellness Center enjoyed a Christmas dinner on Friday. Tables were topped with colorful holiday tablecloths and centerpieces of glittering silver trees. Candies and holiday favors were at each place setting.
Before lunch, an ugly-sweater competition was held, although some questioned whether the term "ugly" really applied to the creative sweaters worn by the contestants. Winners of the sweater competition were LaVonda Augustine, first; Juanita Whiteside, second; and Margie Salvatore, third. Each winner was awarded a holiday mug filled with packets of hot chocolate mix and a gift card.
Santa and Mrs. Claus made an appearance, and several young guests took advantage of the opportunity to get photos with the jolly couple.
Everyone enjoyed the Christmas dinner menu of sliced ham with pineapple, sweet potato casserole, broccoli in cheese sauce, tossed salad, rolls and the Center's delicious coconut cream dessert.
