GRAVETTE -- It may not come as much of a surprise, but Jackson Soule' was chosen as the 1-4A Lineman of the Year for his performance on the football field last fall. He posted more than 150 tackles for the Lion defense and often carried the ball up the middle and through the line for Gravette yards. And when it was time to punt, Soule' booted it far down the field.

Though Soule' played in the backfield, linebackers and defensive linemen are grouped into the same category for the selection process.

Soule' joins other outstanding Lion players with similar conference honors. Cedric Duarte was the 1-4A Back of the Year in 2014; Darrick Strzelecki was the 1-4A Offensive Player of the Year in 2011; and Ethan McKinzie was the 1-4A Offensive Player of the Year in 2008.

In addition, Soule' was also named 4A All-State as well as being selected to play on the All-Star football team for the West.
