Highfill E.H. Club News

The Highfill Extension Homemakers' Club, led by President Peggy Dillahunty, met January 19 at the Gentry Library. The 12 members present reported their hours of various community service. Several of the club members had gone to the Extension Office's Cultural Arts Workshop, which was on making a cathedral window pane quilt square and a Yo Yo quilt square, and they brought their squares to share. The topic of "genealogy" was presented very ably by club member, Mary Ellen McDowell. She herself has done a great deal of study on the topic, with experience in searching out her own family background for several generations.

Club projects were discussed. During this year 2015, the project planned will be to supply personal tote bags to the Children's Shelter in Vaughn. The next meeting will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 16 at the Gentry Library on Main Street. We will learn more about "prescription and over-the-counter drugs." Visitors and new members are always welcome.
