Gentry Awards Banquet

Gentry's Annual Awards Night will be Thursday, March 5, at the Wooden Spoon Restaurant in Gentry. Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. and the program will begin at 7 p.m. The event is reserved seating only, $25 a seat. Those planning to attend should send a check to the Gentry Chamber, P.O. Free Concert

The musical Dysart Family will be holding a free concert at 6 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Pioneer Church of God (Holiness). Highfill Food Pantry

The Highfill United Methodist food pantry will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. For more information, call the church at 479-736-1275.

Looking for Collections

Have you spent your whole life collecting something and would like to show it off? Well, now is your chance. On March 7 the Gravette Historical Museum will host a special exhibit titled "My Collection" that will provide an opportunity to those interested to showcase their private collections to the community. There is no entry fee. All you have to do is sign up, set up, answer any questions from guests and have a great time. Whether you collect buttons, cookbooks, old tools, dolls or even cars, lots of people would love to see your stuff. It doesn't even have to be old or be an antique. Safe Room Open House

An open house for the new safe room and community room at North Arkansas Senior Housing of Gravette is set from 12 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, at the facility located at 700 Irving Street, S.W. the community is invited.

Computer Skills Class

A class in basic computer skills begins today, Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Gravette Public Library. The class will cover basic uses of the computer, including some shortcuts for using the mouse, how to get an email address and send and receive emails and how to do basic Internet searches. Cost of the class is $5 per person. Classes are kept small so everyone can ask questions and get help. Persons wishing to attend this session or a class in Computer Basics 2, which will begin March 4, are asked to call Rhonda, 479-787-6955, mornings or see her at the library, located at 407 Charlotte Street S.E., just east of the Civic Center.

GED Classes Offered

GED classes are under way at the Gravette Public Library, 407 Charlotte St., S.E. Spring classes have begun and will continue on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. through May 6.

Gravette Farmers' Market

The Gravette Farmers' Market will open for its eighth season on Saturday, April 18, and run through November. The market will operate on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Old Town Park, 110 Park Drive, in Gravette. It will feature locally-grown produce, flowers, meats and more. Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed at Care and Share in Gravette. Churches or organizations are needed to work at Care and Share two or three weeks per year, and individuals are needed to work at their own convenience. For more information, call Tom at 479-344-6114.

Sulphur Library Hours

Staff at the Sulphur Springs Library is now operating on winter hours. The library is now open from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays only.

Library VHS Tape Sale

Gravette Public Library is having a closeout sale on all their VHS tapes. Sale price for each tape is 50 cents. DVDs will continue to be available for checkout.

Gravette Lions Club

Gravette Lions Club meets at 1 p.m. on the first and the third Tuesday of every month at the Billy V. Hall Wellness and Activity Center on Limekiln Road in Gravette. New members are welcome.

Gravette Kiwanis

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Gentry Lions Club

Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month in the McKee Community Room, in the Gentry Public Library, on Main Street at N. Collins Ave. New members and visitors are welcome.

Gravette Legion

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend. No meetings are planned for January or February.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Mason Valley Baptist Church Activity Center are held at 7 p.m. the second Friday of each month. The church is located on Arkansas Hwy. 12, between Highfill and Vaughn. Everyone is invited.

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m., the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Decatur VFW Meetings

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome. The facility is three miles east of Decatur on Arkansas Highway 102 and right on Tilly's Hill Road.
