The weather doesn't look too good as I write these items. There is light snow falling and the temperature is also falling. We are in the last week of February, so that makes it closer to spring.

Patti King of Lowell visited her parents, Jack and Sylvia Tucker, on Friday and Saturday last week. She spent both nights and returned home on Sunday before the weather got worse.

Orpha Wardlaw reports that her grandson, Zack Fincher, and his teammates won the Oklahoma Class A Academic Bowl state championship. Zack is the son of Steve and Eva Rea (Wardlaw) Fincher. He attends Regent Preparatory School in Tulsa.

E.H. Club members, remember this Thursday, Feb. 26, is our regular club meeting day at the community building. Orpha Wardlaw is hostess for the lunch. Bert Ballman has the lesson and Robin the cultural art. Lunch is at noon, followed by the business meeting at 1 p.m.

The E.H. Club is having a spring fundraiser on April 11. We are having a spaghetti dinner and also selling raffle tickets for a gas grill. The grill is not brand new. It has been used a few times but has been cleaned and is ready for use. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. The drawing will be held on the night of the dinner. Proceeds will be used for the upkeep of the building.

I had a good weekend. On Saturday I went to Harrison with Steve and Susan Tucker to help celebrate the third birthday of my great-grandson, Jude Tucker. He is the son of Seth and Melody Tucker and he has a little sister, Mercy. I sure did enjoy the day.

Orpha Wardlaw visited recently in the home of Steve and Eva Rea Fincher and children, Zack and Selena. They always enjoy the visits.

My great-grandson, Billy Cook, is on the Gravette school quiz bowl team. They are in second place in the ACE district of the state. Billy is a sophomore. The team is doing great and went to Farmington on Monday to compete.
