GENTRY -- Drs. Ashish Mathur, John Caswell, and Catherine Casey, APN, of the Gentry Medical Center are excited to announce the arrival of Jason Young, APN. After doing his clinical rotation at GMC and having the opportunity to work with everyone there, he knew that's where he wanted to be.

Jason grew up in small-town Arkansas and admired those in medicine who used their unique training and expertise to make a difference in the lives of people.

"I can think of no greater privilege than to be able to do just that," he explained.

He received his bachelor of science in business administration in December of 2004. He then went on to earn his bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Arkansas in 2011 and graduated from Saint Louis University with a master of science in nursing in December 2014.

Jason worked as a registered nurse in emergency and intensive care after receiving his BSN in 2011 and while completing his MSN.

"To me, the best care comes from truly understanding your patient, and that begins with careful listening. The more you listen to the patients, the more you get to know them. And the more you get to know them, the more you can provide them with great care," he said.

He and his wife Sarah have two sons, Brent and Darren, and in his free time he enjoys a good movie, being outdoors, cooking and spending time with family.
