VBS at Mason Valley

Vacation Bible School will be held at Mason Valley Baptist Church from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Sunday, July 12, through Friday, July 17. Friday will be Parent's Night. The church is located on Arkansas Highway 12 between Vaughn and Highfill. For more information, call 479-752-3933.

Service Time Changes

Gravette United Methodist Church announces times have changed for its Sunday services. Morning worship now begins at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday school at 10:45 a.m. The church has a new pastor, Patricia (Pat) Bodenhamer. She is also pastoring the Decatur church, where morning worship begins at 11 a.m.

Vacation Bible School

Heritage Baptist Church invites children to vacation Bible school from 6 to 8 p.m. on July 13 through July 17. This year's theme is: "Hometown Nazareth: Where Jesus was a kid." Children, kindergarten through sixth grade, will step back in time at hometown Nazareth, exploring what it was like to live in the town where Jesus grew up. Kids and adults participate in a memorable Bible-times marketplace, sing catchy songs, play games, dig into Bible-times snacks, visit Jesus' mom, Mary, and collect Bible Memory Makers to remind them of God's Word.

First Assembly Kids Krusade

A Kids Krusade will be held at Gravette First Assembly of God Church from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 11. The Krusade is for children ages 3 through 12. A movie, "Prince of Egypt," will be shown. Events will be held at the church one mile west of Gravette on Highway 72. If children need a ride, the church bus will pick them up. 25-Year Reunion

The Gravette High School Class of 1990 25-year reunion will be held Gravette Day weekend. A casual get-together for classmates, graduates, spouses and friends will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, August 7, at Fire Station 29 Pub and Grill on Main Street in Gravette. The class will have a float in the Gravette Day parade on Saturday, August 8. Wagapalooza in Gentry

On August 8, Tailwaggers will host Wagapalooza in Gentry. The event will include a barbecue cook-off, pie-eating contest, ugliest dog and dog that looks like its owner contest. The event will feature prizes from local nonprofits, clubs and businesses and more, including adoptable dogs and a dog play area. Tailwaggers will be selling armbands for tasting barbecue and for inflatables and other activities. Regional Transit Rides

The city of Gravette has partnered with Ozark Regional Transit for the purpose of an "on demand" service agreement to serve the city's citizens. The fare will be $2.50 per destination and service hours are 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Gentry Summer Reading

Gentry Public Library's 2015 summer reading program, "Every Hero Has A Story," will run through July 30. Children, 6 and under with a current library membership, may register for programs on Tuesdays from 10 to 11 a.m.; and children, 7 and above, may register for programs on Thursdays from 10 to 11 a.m. Participants will receive a logbook to record titles of books read this summer. The library will also be offering a variety of programs each week. A calendar of events is available at the library and children are encouraged to attend as often as possible. The calendar includes military heroes on the week of July 7 and 9, child heroes on the week of July 14 and 16, comic book heroes on July 21 and 23 and hero dress-up days on July 28 and 30.

Highfill Food Pantry

The Highfill United Methodist food pantry will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. For more information, call the church at 479-736-1275.

Farmers' Market

The Gravette Farmers' Market is open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Old Town Park, 110 Park Drive, in Gravette. It features locally-grown produce, flowers, meats and more.

Lions Club

Gravette Lions Club meets at 12 noon on the first and the third Tuesday of every month at the In-Zone Restaurant on Hwy. 59 N. in Gravette. The Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month at the McKee Community Room in Gentry Public Library. New members are welcome and invited.

Gravette Kiwanis

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Gravette Legion

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Mason Valley Baptist Church Activity Center are held at 7 p.m. the second Friday of each month. The church is located on Arkansas Hwy. 12, between Highfill and Vaughn. Everyone is invited.

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m., the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Decatur VFW Meetings

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome. The facility is three miles east of Decatur on Arkansas Highway 102 and right on Tilly's Hill Road.
