GENTRY -- Police arrested Bryan Thompson, 21, of Gentry, on July 1, in connection with the discovery of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia during a home visit there with his probation and parole officer.

According to police reports, two glass pipes and what was identified through preliminary drug testing as crystal methamphetamine were discovered in the home and Thompson admitted owning the contraband.

Thompson was also arrested on a warrant in connection with a comercial burglary and the theft of some guns from Cherokee Trading and Pawn on June 27 or June 28. Police connected the crime to Thompson based on shoe-print evidence and witnesses.

Thompson later admitted to the crime, according to police reports, but said the guns were "long gone."

According to police reports and the Benton County Jail log, Thompson faces felony charges for commercial burglary, theft of property and possession of a firearm by certain persons.

He was listed as being held in the Benton County Jail on Monday, with bond set at $10,000 on the burglary-related charges and $10,000 for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
