GRAVETTE -- Harvest Baptist Church will be hosting a charity event called "Mom Prom" from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 27. The event is inspired from similar local events and all proceeds will go toward mission efforts this summer.
While the event is billed as "Mom Prom," being a mother is not necessary to attend. Any woman (or girl) may attend. The event will cost $10 for advance tickets, or $15 at the door. Sponsors are asking that, if any under-age girls attend, they be accompanied by an adult woman. No men will be admitted to the event.
The event will include games, refreshments, music and dance. There will be an award for the most hideous prom attire. Formal prom wear is not required but encouraged. An "Alice in Wonderland" theme will encompass Harvest for the evening.
