Taco dinners being offered in Harvest Baptist fundraiser

GRAVETTE -- Harvest Baptist Church is sponsoring an "Indian Taco" fundraising event, with all of the proceeds going towards mission work. The church will make and deliver Indian Taco's locally on Friday, March 27, during lunch time.

Dinners can also be picked up at the church. For information on delivery outside of the immediate Gravette area, please contact the church in advance.

Cost for the dinners is $10 each. Advance orders will be taken by local volunteers in the Gravette area, or you can contact the church directly by calling 479-721-1650 or sending an email to [email protected]. Orders should be submitted by Thursday, March 26. Be sure to include your name, delivery address, as well as the time you would like to have the taco meals delivered.

Harvest Baptist Church has local mission projects that include Vacation Bible School (serving the Sulphur Springs community), Share the Harvest food pantry (feeding those locally in need), and mission trips. This year the church is sponsoring an event in Athenas, Costa Rica, supporting a local missionary from Rogers (Steve and Angel Hoover) and a ministry that includes church planting, pastoral education (in Spanish), an orphanage, and local community outreach (including marriage and family counseling and support).

"Our prayer is that all of the money needed for these vital ministries can be raised through a few fundraising opportunities here locally," said Pastor Deryl King. "This community (in Athenas) doesn't have the educational resources to teach and counsel adults, much less the financial resources to do the simplest of things like put a new roof on the orphanage," King continued.

This year's mission trip to Costa Rica will be from July 30 to Aug. 7th. Harvest has opened this trip to anyone who is interested in ministry work. Several other churches are sending representatives to help support this particular mission project. If you are interested in joining this effort, or have questions about missions, please contact the church at the above address and phone.
