80th Birthday

The children of Mary Crawley would like to invite the community of Maysville and Gravette to join them in celebrating Mary Crawley's 80th birthday. The party will be held on Sunday, March 29, at the Maysville Community Building. Bring a covered dish to the potluck dinner at 12:30 p.m. or drop in between 1 and 5 for an afternoon of fellowship and surprises. Your attendance is the only gift requested.

Taco Fundraiser

Harvest Baptist Church is sponsoring an "Indian Taco" fundraising event, with all of the proceeds going towards mission work. The church will make and deliver Indian Tacos locally on Friday, March 27, during lunch time. Dinners can also be picked up at the church. Cost for the dinners is $10 each. Advance orders will be taken by local volunteers in the Gravette area, or you can contact the church directly by calling 479-721-1650 or sending an email to [email protected]. Orders should be submitted by Thursday, March 26. Be sure to include name, delivery address, as well as the time to have the taco meals delivered.

Gallery Cafe Art Show

A spring art show will be held Saturday, March 28, at the Gallery Cafe on Main Street in Decatur. Featured artists are Michael Kelley (fantasy art), Steven Martinez (pop art) and Rita Furrow (nature photography). An artists' reception will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The show is open to the public.

Lions Pancake Supper

The 43rd annual Gentry Lions Club Pancake Supper to raise funds to assist people in regaining or improving their sight will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 30, at the Gentry High School cafeteria. The Bloomfield 4-H club will be assisting with this year's supper. Tickets are available from club members (Lions or Bloomfield 4-H) and at the door. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 5 and under.

Assembly of God Revival

The Gravette Assembly of God Church will be holding a revival Sunday, March 29, through Wednesday, April 1. Revival speaker will be Pastor Rob George from Oklahoma. Services will be held Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Mon. - Wed. at 7 p.m.

Town-hall Meeting

Gentry School District has scheduled an open town-hall meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 13, in the Gentry City Council chambers (adjacent to the Gentry Police Station at Main St. and Collins Ave.) to get input from the community on possible facility building plans, discuss a charter school within the Gentry School District to better prepare students to enter the workforce upon graduation and to reconsider the school district's mission statement. The public is welcome and invited to the community event.

Spaghetti Dinner

The Maysville E.H. Club is planning a spaghetti dinner on April 11. Serving will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the community building. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for youngsters 9-12. Dinner will be spaghetti, salad, bread and drinks. Homemade pies and a cake walk are planned. Proceeds will go toward the upkeep of the community building.

Sunrise Service

Heritage Baptist Church is hosting the annual Sunrise Service, Sunday, April 5. The service will begin at 7 a.m. and conclude by 8:30 a.m. There will be a mixture of music from area churches and a message from God's Word to close the service. Easter Eggstravaganza

Decatur Assembly of God Church will host its annual "Easter Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza" on Saturday, April 4, at 1 p.m. There will be five hunting areas for children, ages 0-12, including a designated hunting area for children with special needs. There will be thousands of candy-filled eggs to hunt. Hundreds of prizes, including grand prizes, will be given away in each age division. The event will take place on the grounds of DAG Church, located at 733 N. Main St. in Decatur.

Gentry Easter Egg Hunt

The Gentry Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its annual Easter egg hunt in the city park at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 4. The event will include prizes for all and bicycles, provided by local businesses, for a winner in each age category.

Decatur Egg Hunt

The Decatur Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Easter egg hunt Saturday, March 28, at 10 a.m. (rain or shine) in Veterans Park in Decatur. The Easter Egg hunt is open to children in four age groups, 2-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. The Easter egg hunt is sponsored by Mars Candy, Crayola Crayons and High Rise Trampoline.

Tired Iron Spring Crankup

Tired Iron of the Ozarks will host its 23rd annual Spring Crankup at its show grounds on Friday, April 17, through Sunday, April 19. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Events include operating saw mills, a blacksmith shop with working blacksmiths, a parade of power at noon, antique engines and tractors, antique home furnishings, and much, much more. The featured tractor and engine at this spring's show will be International. Admission and parking are free. The club showgrounds are located at 13344 Taylor Orchard Road in Gentry. K, Pre-K Registrations

Glenn Duffy Elementary School in Gravette will hold a kindergarten registration and prekindergaten applications will be available on Monday, March 30, through Friday, April 3 -- between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. Parents with questions are encouraged to call the school at 479-787-4120. OCH Gravette Clinic is scheduling appointments for prekindergarten and kindergarten children to get immunizations and physicals. Dates are March 30 through April 3. Highfill Food Pantry

The Highfill United Methodist food pantry will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. For more information, call the church at 479-736-1275.

Go7 Food Program

The Go7 food program will distribute free food and paper goods at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at the Gravette Civic Center (Boys and Girls Club building) on Charlotte St., S.E. This program is open to the public and requires no proof of income. Bags may be brought. The food program will continue on the last Saturday of each month at the same time and location.

Computer Skills Classes

Classes in basic computer skills will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Wednesdays at the Gravette Public Library. Cost of the classes is $5 per person. Classes are small so everyone can ask questions and get help. A class in resume writing is planned for March 25. Farmers' Market

The Gravette Farmers' Market will open for its eighth season on Saturday, April 18, and run through November. The market will operate on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Old Town Park, 110 Park Drive, in Gravette. It will feature locally-grown produce, flowers, meats and more. Gravette Lions Club

Gravette Lions Club meets at 12 noon on the first and the third Tuesday of every month at the In-Zone Restaurant on Hwy. 59 N. Nominations for new officers will be held at the April 7 meeting and election will be held April 21. New members are welcome.

Gravette Kiwanis

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Gentry Lions Club

Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month in the McKee Community Room, in the Gentry Public Library, on Main Street at N. Collins Ave. New members and visitors are welcome.

Gravette Legion

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Mason Valley Baptist Church Activity Center are held at 7 p.m. the second Friday of each month. The church is located on Arkansas Hwy. 12, between Highfill and Vaughn. Everyone is invited.

Decatur VFW Meetings

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome. The facility is three miles east of Decatur on Arkansas Highway 102 and right on Tilly's Hill Road.
