Golfers will be out on the links at Scotsdale Golf Course in Bella Vista this Saturday, May 9, for the 13th annual Gravette Lions Golf Classic. The popular event, sponsored by the Gravette High School Booster Club, has raised thousands of dollars in the last few years to help fund GHS activities, including athletics, drama, vocal and instrumental music, cheerleaders, HOSA and the arts, as well as providing academic achievement awards.
Both men and women golfers will be competing in four-person scrambles and there will be prizes for closest to the pin, hole in one and longest drive. Tee favors and lunch will be provided.
Businesses and individuals have signed up as sponsors for the event. John Edwards and Jack Skillett, Gravette school board members from Bella Vista, have expressed deep appreciation for all who have helped with the various levels of sponsorship.
Play begins at 8 a.m. Saturday and Edwards says the event will be held rain or shine.
