Armed Forces Day concert planned at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista

BELLA VISTA -- A free Armed Forces Day concert, paying tribute to all veterans who are presently serving and all those who have served, is planned for 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista. Sponsored by the Veterans Council of Northwest Arkansas and the Bella Vista Village POA, the concert will feature the 17-piece JM Band of Northwest Arkansas, under the direction of Ron Thurston.

The Veterans Council of Northwest Arkansas was also responsible for erecting the Veterans Wall of Honor in Bella Vista. The Council's director, Leonard Eisert, invites everyone in the area, to come "help pay tribute to the men and women who have served or are serving in the United States military, keeping America strong and secure. You do not have to be a Bella Vista resident or a POA member."

"This is our only show of the year," he said, "and they will put on a great show. It's absolutely free. Come early and enjoy."

Jacob Greeling, Arkansas state commander of the American Legion, will also speak to the crowd, Eisert said.
