Great Lego Build-off draws 20 entries

GRAVETTE -- The rainy afternoon didn't discourage folks from turning out Saturday for the third annual Great Lego Build-off at Imagine Before and After School Care. Twenty youngsters, ages 3 through 15, came and submitted entries in the competition.

No kits were allowed. Each creation was the builder's original design. Every entrant received a certificate of achievement as a Master Builder, a treat bag of gifts and a book.

Levi Carnahan and Noah Cartwright, both 9, were the winners of the most creative prize. Levi is the son of Darren and Kimberly Carnahan and Noah is the son of Cory and Lindsey Cartwright. Logan Smith, 11, got the most votes for the favorite creation. Logan is the son of J.D. and Catrina Smith.

The youngsters enjoyed playing a variety of games, including guessing the number of Legos in a jar on display. Christian Patton, 15, was winner of that contest. He guessed 37 Legos and the jar contained 43.

Chris and Tina Crose, owners and operators of Imagine, thanked their cosponsors, the Walmart home office, Dollar General and the Gravette Lions Club, for helping provide prizes.
