Summer reading program unveiled at Gentry library

GENTRY -- Gentry Public Library's 2015 summer reading program, "Every Hero Has A Story," will run from June 8 through July 30.

Children, 6 and under with a current library membership, may begin registration for programs on Tuesdays from 10 to 11 a.m.; and children, 7 and above, may register for programs on Thursdays from 10 to 11 a.m.

Participants will receive a logbook to record titles of books read this summer.

The library will also be offering a variety of programs each week. A calendar of events is available at the library and children are encouraged to attend as often as possible. The calendar includes community heroes from the Gentry Fire Department on the week of June 9 and 11, community heroes from the Arkansas State Police on the week of June 16 and 18, nature's heroes with Sam Doss on the week of June 23 and 25, Bible heroes on the week of June 30 and July 2, military heroes on the week of July 7 and 9, child heroes on the week of July 14 and 16, comic book heroes on July 21 and 23 and hero dress-up days on July 28 and 30.

Everyone who participates in the programs will be invited to a final party at the close of the summer reading program. The library welcomes children of all abilities.
