DECATUR -- As the clock wound down on the Decatur High football season, head coach Shane Holland had little time to reflect on the loss. He and six students loaded into the Decatur activity van and headed south to Lake Hamilton and the Arkansas state 2A cross country meet.
The meet, hosted by Lake Hamilton High School, took place at Oakland Park Infield Nov. 7. One hundred and thirty-seven runners from 37 schools participated in the event.
By the end of the day, all six Decatur runners placed 75th or better, giving the Bulldogs a fourth-place finish in the state meet.
