GENTRY — Veterans were honored by students at Gentry Intermediate School on Wednesday, Nov. 11, during an afternoon program in the commons area.

Students, led by music teacher Trella Yates, sang patriotic songs and read letters of appreciation they had written to honor local veterans.

The commons area was filled to overflowing for the event as veterans and parents of students came out for the special event.

Student letters of appreciation were presented to local veterans to thank and honor them for their military service.
