Conflating desperate refugee families with ISIL terrorists is just the latest hate-mongering xenophobia of the conservative Republican base. They will believe anything Rush and the far-righteous hucksters (like our former governor) try to scare them with.
We can only counter them with stand-up American courage and compassion every time we hear that "be afraid of those dark-skinned foreigners" nonsense, no matter if it is on TV, the papers, the Internet or at the Thanksgiving table. Courage to do the right thing is in our genes, America. The time to do the right thing is always right now.
