Woman arrested in connection with fight with sister

GENTRY -- Police arrested Lydia Whitten, 27, of Gentry, in connection with a Sept. 28 incident of domestic battery in the third degree after responding to a hang-up 911 call.

According to police reports, police responded to a 911 hang-up call, saw blood on the concrete by the door and were told that Whitten had been fighting with a sister after they had been drinking.

Whitten is alleged to have struck her sister, causing bruises to her cheeks and a bloody nose. And when the sister tried to flee, Whitten is alleged to have followed her and continued the assault and then hit her own head on a pickup truck and on the back porch, causing injuries Whitten alleged were caused by her sister.

Whitten was arrested and transported to the Benton County Jail.
