GENTRY -- It was a controversial play, the junior girls were down 7 to 6 and the junior quarterback's flags were still laying on the ground from the previous play when she received that final snap, with just seconds remaining, and passed the ball for the game-winning touchdown. But no flags were thrown and the ball was not ruled dead. The juniors took the victory away from an undefeated senior team, winning the day's powder puff championship.

That's how it happened on Sept. 30, during Gentry's homecoming week. After the seniors defeated the freshman girls by a touchdown, and the juniors squeaked by the sophomores, the juniors were up, 6-0, in the final game. But the seniors came back to tie things up and score a point after to take the lead.

And time was short. Then came that final and controversial play and the juniors were the powder puff champions for 2015.
