Hiwasse Trunk or Treat

The Hiwasse community will host a Trunk or Treat from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31, on Arkansas Hwy. 72 across from the Bank of Gravett and Hiwasse Hilton. Anyone interested in setting up a "trunk" should contact Hiwasse General Store or the Bank of Gravett, Hiwasse branch.

Gentry Trick or Treat on Main

Gentry's Trick or Treat on Main Street event, sponsored by the Gentry Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, on Gentry's Main Street. Local businesses and organizations will have treats for children (and adults) in costume along Main Street, between First Baptist Church in Gentry and Gentry Blvd. Businesses without a store front on Main Street may contact the Gentry Chamber of Commerce regarding space to set up along Main Street.

Trunk of Treats

The Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church will have a "Trunks of Treats" event on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be hot chocolate and cookies for all. In the event of rain, the event will be moved inside to the fellowship hall. Families and children are invited to stop by as they make their rounds.

OCH Fall Festival in Gravette

Ozarks Community Hospital in Gravette will host a community fall festival from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, sponsored by OCH, the Gravette Chamber of Commerce and several area churches and organizations. Activities will be held in the hospital's front parking lot. Visitors are asked to park in the clinic parking lot.

Trunk-or-treat will be held for the youngsters, along with free snow cones, candy and food, games and inflatable rides. A chili cook off will be held and guests will be able to do face painting, pumpkin painting and crafts. A petting zoo will also be available.

All activities are free, except for the chili cook off. An entry fee of $10 will be charged to help pay for prizes. The winner of the best chili will receive $100 and the winner of the best decorated chili cook-off booth will receive a $50 prize.

Amanda Gittlein, OCH communications manager, said those prizes may increase if there is an abundance of entries and taste testers. Tasters will pay a dollar for the opportunity to sample the cook-off entries. They will receive two tickets, one to vote for the best chili and one for the best decorated booth.

Anyone interested in providing a trunk for the trunk or treat part of the festival should contact Amanda at 479-344-6464.
