Whether you are hosting an elegant dinner or a potluck meal, an efficient plan and the right equipment will ensure a successful party. The two most important elements of successful hosting are simplicity and creativity. Offer things both you and your guests like and don't overdo it. Remember to relax and enjoy your guests. When planning a dinner party, many things can be done the day before, like filling salt and pepper shakers, chilling beverages, getting napkins, table linens and cutlery ready. Choose food that can be prepared ahead of time. Make sure you have enough spices and ingredients for the menu items. Take into consideration things like age, number of guests and dietary needs. Vary the textures, colors and flavors of your food.

Eye Opener was given by Jane -- run a piece of wax paper over your clothes rods to make your clothes hangers slide easier. She also showed a beautiful table runner for cultural art.

Members answered roll call by telling if they were planning on hosting a party.

Gwen Singleton read the minutes and gave the treasurer's report. She also reported on the correspondence she and Katherine Tucker had sent.

Reminders were given about the upcoming county craft lesson Nov 12 on making candy cane wreaths and the fall County Council Meeting Nov 20 which will be at New Hope Assembly of God Church in Rogers.

Sylvia Tucker gave a report on the building usage, and Jane gave an update on building projects. Plans were made for the club's community Thanksgiving dinner, which will be Nov. 14.

The meeting was adjourned with the benediction.
