Decatur Farmers Co-op to host grand opening ceremony

DECATUR -- The Decatur Farmers Co-op and True Value hardware store will hold their grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony Sept. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at their store on Main Street.

Since its "soft opening" on July 29, the residents of Decatur have enjoyed the convenience of having a farm supply and hardware store at their fingertips.

The store carries a complete line of farming supplies, from fence posts and barb wire to feed for any kind of domesticated animal.

On the hardware side, customers can find a complete line of garden tools, automobile supplies, paints and even a complete line of bird and squirrel feeders.

Decatur Mayor Bob Tharp will open the ceremony with a few remarks, followed by a blessing by the Pat Bodenhamer, pastor of the Methodist Church. The event will conclude with a ribbon cutting ceremony with store manager Chris Cole, Farmers Co-op vice president Jay Carter, Chamber president Margo Barnes and other dignitaries from Decatur.

On Saturday, Sept. 12, the store will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. The day will feature information, product demonstrations, games and food. An Echo String Trimmer and a grand prize, a $300 gift certificate, will be given away in the afternoon.

Area residents are invited to stop by the store, located on South Main Street in Decatur, and check out the many product lines that the Decatur Farmers Co-op and True Value have to offer.
