Gravette girls split games, Gentry girls lose

WESTSIDE -- The Lady Lions defeated the Lady Blackhawks of Pea Ridge in three straight sets on Sept. 8 but then fell to Berryville on Thursday, 3-1.

Set scores against Pea Ridge on Sept. 8 were 25-22, 25-10 and 25-20. Scores on Thursday were 25-15, Gravette, in the first set; but Berryville took the next three, 25-18, 25-17 and 25-19.

The Lady Lions were 4-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play at the end of last week.

They are scheduled to play at Huntsville on Tuesday (after press time). The Gravette girls are also scheduled to host Shiloh Christian on Thursday, with game times beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Gentry Girls

The Lady Pioneers of Gentry lost both their volleyball games last week in three straight sets.

On Sept. 8, the Gentry girls traveled to Huntsville and fell, 25-18, 25-11 and 25-16. Then, on Thursday, the Lady Saints from Shiloh Christian came to Gentry and dominated the Lady Pioneers on their home court, 25-13, 15-7 and 25-7. Both games were conference matches, making the Gentry girls 0-4 in conference and 0-6 for the season as of the end of last week.

The Lady Pioneers were scheduled to play at Prairie Grove on Tuesday, after press time, and at Lincoln on Thursday.
