Gentry Revival

The First Baptist Church will hold a revival April 10-13 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., with Travis Young, evangelist and gospel illusionist. Travis brings a wide variety of illusions, props, drama and humor to his teaching to present the gospel in creative ways to which children, youth and adults can relate. Travis Young has ministered as a children's and families' pastor for the past 15 years in Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma. First Baptist Church is located at 221 W. Main in Gentry. Kindergarten and ABCSS Prekindergarten Program Registration

Glenn Duffy Elementary School in Gravette will be holding kindergarten and prekindergarten (4-year-olds) registration. Applications will be available at school and online beginning Monday, April 11, through Friday, April 15. Times are Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., and on Tuesday and Thursday between 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. For information about required items, please refer to the school website under the Parent tab or call 787-4120. For your convenience, OCH Gravette Clinic is scheduling appointments for pre-K and kindergarten children to get immunizations and physicals. Senior Coupon Signup

A representative from the Area Agency on Aging will be at the Gentry Senior Activity and Wellness Center, 121 E. Main in Gentry, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, to sign up senior citizens for farmers' market produce coupons. Signup at the Billy V. Hall Activity and Wellness Center in Gravette will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, April 8. The Gravette center is located at 1870 Limekiln Road. Applicants must be 60 years of age or older and meet monthly income guidelines. Income limits are $1,815 for one person, $2,456 for two persons, $3,098 for a family of three and $3,739 for a family of four. Persons must bring photo identification and proof of gross household income in order to sign up. One coupon book will be issued per household. Coupons may be used to purchase locally-grown fruit, vegetables, herbs and honey from local farmers' markets. For more information, call 479-787-5950.

Local Gem and Mineral Show

The Northwest Arkansas Gem & Mineral Society will hold its 2016 Spring Show April 9-10 at the Siloam Springs Community Building, downtown on Mt. Olive. The show will feature a wide range of rocks, minerals, gems, demonstrations, handcrafted jewelry, fossils, dealers and supplies, with exhibits, demonstrations, door prizes and a kid's corner. New this year will be music presented by two young rock hounds, 11 and 12. Shayne and James O'Kelly, with their mother, Jamee, will perform at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Tired Iron Show

The Spring Crankup show is scheduled for April 15, 16 and 17 at the club's showgrounds in Gentry. Show times are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Featured at the show will be Saturday exhibitions in the blacksmith shop by the Blacksmiths of Arkansas and demonstrations by the Bella Vista Woodcarvers Club. A special auction of farm-related items will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 15. As usual, the shows are free to the public. Tired Iron of the Ozarks meets at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesdays of the month at the club's showgrounds, 13344 Taylor Orchard Road, Gentry.

Millsap Appreciation Dinner

An appreciation dinner will be held for Donnie Millsap at 6 p.m., Saturday, April 16, at the First Baptist Church in Highfill, with a full meal provided (without charge) for guests who come out to support Donnie Millsap and show their appreciation for him and his work over the years. Millsap is fighting non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, a cancer that originates in the lymphatic system, the disease-fighting network of the body. He is currently undergoing treatments.

Falling Springs Cemetery Cleanup

The annual clean up at Falling Springs Cemetery will be at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 16. Patrons of the cemetery are asked to bring tools and mowers and come and help. The annual board meeting will follow. For more information, contact Ronnie McGhee at 479-549-8428

A citywide yard sale will be held on April 15 through 17 in Sulphur Springs. Contact the city of Sulphur Springs for more information.

Kite Day

Kite Day is planned from 12 noon until 2 p.m., Saturday, April 9, at Siloam Springs Municipal Airport, 20610 Smith Field Drive. The event is free, and the first 200 children will receive kite making supplies to build a kite. Children may also bring their own kite to fly. Inflatable rides will also be available as an additional activity. No registration required.

Daddy's Little Princess Dance Scheduled

Daddy's Little Princess Dance is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. April 8 in the Gentry High School cafeteria. The dance is for fathers and their daughters (ages 3 to 7). Attendance in Gentry Schools is not a requirement. Cost is $15 for father and daughter and $5 for each additional daughter. Tickets can be purchased from Kaye Cripps, 479-640-1409, or Regina Morris, 479-238-6569. No tickets will be sold at the door. Snacks and drinks will be available. Photographs will be available for purchase at the dance ($10 for one 5x7 and one 4x6 print). Little Mermaid, Snow White, Cinderella, Elsa and Pocahontas are a few of the princesses that will be visiting fathers and daughters.

Father and Daughter Dance Planned

A Father and Daughter Dance is set for 6 to 8 p.m. April 9 at the Gentry High School cafeteria. Cost is $15 for father and daughter and $5 for each additional daughter. Daughters must be in kindergarten through sixth grade. Tickets can be purchased from Kaye Cripps, 479-640-1409, or Regina Morris, 479-238-6569. No tickets will be sold at the door. Payment order forms for tickets can be obtained from and returned, with payment, back to your child's school, and tickets will be sent home with the student the following day. Sixth-grade daughters and fathers will need to contact Kaye or Regina for tickets. Drinks and snacks will be available. Photographs will be taken and available for purchase. Cost is $10 for one 5x7 and one 4x6 print.

Gentry Story Time

Gentry Public Library holds Story Time with Grandma Betty each Friday. Grandma Betty will read aloud children's favorite books from 2 to 3 p.m. in the children's area of the library. For more information, call 479-736-2054.

GED Classes

Free GED classes are held at the Gravette Public Library from 4 to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays continuing through May 13. Classes are open enrollment, so students may enroll anytime and finish when they are ready. Come by the library, 119 Main Street, S.E., to enroll, or call 479-986-6911.

Highfill Food Pantry

The Highfill United Methodist food pantry is open from 6 to 8 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. For more information, call the church at 479-736-1275.

Maysville Food Giveaway

A free food distribution is held the first Saturday of each month at the Maysville Bible Church, Hwy. 72 and Cunningham, in Maysville. The next food giveaway will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, April 2. Anyone who is in need of food is welcome to attend.

Decatur Food Pantry

Decatur United Methodist Church has a community food pantry open the first and third Thursday of each month. The only requirement for the pantry is that one live in the 72722 zip code area. An identification and a piece of mail showing one's residence in the Decatur area is required. There is also a USDA commodity program available which is income-based. Those wishing to do so can fill out an application to see if they qualify.

Lions Club

Gravette Lions Club meets at noon on the first Tuesday of every month at the In-Zone Restaurant on Arkansas Hwy. 59 N. in Gravette and at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month at Imagine Before and After School Care, 206 Birmingham St., S.E.. The Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month at the McKee Community Room in Gentry Public Library. New members are welcome and invited.

Gravette Kiwanis

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Gravette Legion

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Mason Valley Baptist Church Activity Center are held at 7 p.m. the second Friday of each month. The church is located on Arkansas Hwy. 12, between Highfill and Vaughn. Everyone is invited.

Decatur VFW Meetings

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome.
