Gentry girls do well in fine-arts competition

GENTRY -- Five girls from the youth group at Gentry First Assembly of God participated in the Arkansas Assemblies of God Fine Arts Festival in Hot Springs in March.

Jaidyn West, Amanda Smith, Haylee Pyburn, Katie Smith and Brianna Mitchell performed a human video and received an excellent rating.

Amanda Smith submitted a photograph and a 3-D art piece, both of which received excellent ratings. Smith also performed a trumpet solo, for which she earned an excellent rating.

Haylee Pyburn performed a vocal solo and received a superior rating, with an invitation to compete at the Assemblies of God National Fine Arts Festival in Louisville, Ky., in August.

Brianna Mitchell submitted a photograph and received a superior rating, with an invitation to compete at the Assemblies of God National Fine Arts Festival in Louisville this August.
