Gentry takes first, second in Pioneer Relays

— The Gentry boys' track team took second place at the Pioneer Relays in Gentry on Friday, behind the Siloam Springs' team. Siloam Springs finished with 173 points, outscoring second-place Gentry, which had 136. Shiloh Christian had 83, Gravette had 59, Prairie Grove 58, Pea Ridge 57, Rogers Heritage 27, Lincoln 21, Decatur 10, Mulberry 9 and West Fork 3.

In high jump, Bryan Harris of Gentry took first, clearing 5 feet, 8 inches. Cole Cripps finished in third place with his jump of 5 feet, 4 inches. Jon Faulkenberry of Gentry and Alex Fink of Gravette also cleared 5 feet, 4 inches.

In long jump, it was Cole Cripps in first place with his jump of 19 feet, 6.5 inches, beating out Trent Lyon of Siloam Springs by a half inch and Bryan Harris by 2.5 inches. Alex Fink was fourth with his jump of 19 feet, 1.5 inches.

Gentry took first, second and fourth in the triple jump. Cripps cleared 41-feet, 4 inches. Harris cleared 39 feet, 9 inches; and Jon Faulkenberry was at 38 feet, 9 inches.

Cole Cripps took first in pole vault with his vault of 14 feet, 4 inches. Jarod Lawrence and Sonny Xiong of Gentry finished in second and third places, clearing 10 feet and 9 feet, respectively.

Gravette finished in second, behind Siloam Springs, in the 4x800-meter relay. The team of Danny DeLapp, Derek Cravens, William Crawley and Austin Moon finished in 9:33.71.

Gravette finished fourth in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:46.86. The relay team included Gunner Berger, Danny DeLapp, TJ Kardynalski and Alex Fink. In the 4x100, Gravette was fifth.

Bryan Harris finished second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.81. Alex Morrow of Decatur finished in fourth at 17.70

Bryan Harris took second and Alex Fink took third in the 100-meter dash, finishing at 11.21 and 11.48, respectively. In the 200-meter race, Harris finished second and Fink was fourth. Their times were 23.25 and 23.82.

Fink took first in the 400-meter race, finishing in 52.53. Taylor Haisman of Decatur was fourth at 54.04.

Aaron Walker of Gentry was third in the 800-meter run, finishing in 2:18.39. He also took third in the 1600-meter run with his time of 5:13.80. Jarod Lawrence of Gentry was fourth at 5:27.24.

Girls

On the girls' side, Gentry won the meet with 137.5 points. Shiloh Christian had 99, Gravette 97.5, Siloam Springs 88, Pea Ridge 77, Prairie Grove 71, Lincoln 22, Rogers Heritage 20 and West Fork 6.

It was Jordan Neeley of Gravette in first in the 100-, 200- and 400-meter races. She finished the 100 in 13.19, the 200 in 27:21 and the 400 in 1:01.63.

Krystin Branscum of Gravette finished third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.63. She finished fifth in the 200-meter race at 28.49.

In the 400-meter race, Mallory Morris and Lauren Little of Gentry took second and fifth with times of 1:04.38 and 1:08.49.

Morris finished first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:33.40. Tori Foster of Gravette was fifth with her time of 2:46.83.

Brooke Brasel of Gravette was third in the 1600-meter run at 6:33.65. She also took third in the 3200-meter run with a time of 14:01.53.

Amanda Homer of Gravette finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 21.00.

Gentry took fourth, fifth and sixth places in the 300-meter hurdles. Kya DeZurik finished in 1:04.12; Hannah Boss in 1:04.57; and Brookle Trammell in 1:09.96.

Gravette's relay team of Haley Betz, Taylor Eaton, Krystin Branscum and Jordan Neeley grabbed second and almost first in the 4x100 relay, just 6 tenths of a second behind Shiloh Christian, with a time of 53.80.

In the 4x400-meter relay, Gentry's team of Mallory Morris, Lauren Little, Kya DeZurik and Hannah Boss took second with a time of 4:41.07. With Alexia Lo running in the place of Boss, the Gentry 4x800 relay team finished in second with a time of 11:38.94.

In the pole vault, it was Gentry in first, second and fifth, and Gravette in fourth. Lexie Clark won the event with her vault of 7 feet. Kya DeZurik and Felicia Heflin cleared 6 feet, 6 inches. Lauren Fowler cleared 6 feet.

Hannah Boss and Chastery Fuamatu of Gentry took second and third in the discus, with throws of 97 feet, 2.5 inches and 96 feet, 9 inches. Fuamatu took first in the shot put at 34 feet, 11 inches. Boss took fourth, throwing the shot 28 feet, 9 inches.

Kyrstin Branscum of Gravette took third in the high jump, clearing 4 feet, 6 inches.

Mallory Morris of Gentry took first in the triple jump, clearing 31 feet, 4 inches. She also finished sixth in the long jump. Finishing in second through fourth in the triple jump were Haley Betz of Gravette, 29 feet, 7 inches; Fuamatu of Gentry, 29 feet, 6 inches; and Kendall Yarbrough of Gravette, 28 feet, 11.5 inches.

High Point Awards

Brian Harris received the high-point award for the boys, and Mallory Morris received the high-point award for the girls.
