Lady Pioneers defeat Tigers but fall to Wolves

GENTRY -- The Lady Pioneers answered Prairie Grove's first run in the fifth with three of their own in the bottom of the inning and held on for the 3-2 win on April 11 at the Merrill Reynolds Memorial Complex in Gentry.

The Gentry girls scored three runs in the fifth on a two-run home run by Brooke Boston and an RBI single by Alyssa Kelton.

Gentry's three runs came on five hits in the game. Prairie Grove had nine hits but was only able to plate two.

Brooke Boston hit a home run in the first inning to give Gentry its only lead against Lincoln on Thursday, but Lincoln answered with three in the top of the second, another run in the fourth and eight more in the final three innings.

Lincoln had 12 runs on 15 hits. Gentry managed four runs on six hits but also had six errors in the game.

Boston was two for three for Gentry and, in additon to her home run, had a triple in the seventh.
